If you are a GP needing to refer a patient for psychiatric assessment, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I have extensive experience in assessing and treating adult patients with a broad range of psychiatric conditions, particularly stress-related disorders, depression and bipolar affective disorder, alcohol and substance abuse and self-harm. I accept both inpatient and outpatient referrals for assessment and diagnosis; I also have full hospital admitting rights.

After the initial appointment
In certain instances, I may need to see a patient more than once to obtain a full picture, to confirm their diagnosis and to develop the individual treatment plan. Once we have reached this point, I will provide a detailed report of my assessment, diagnosis and proposed treatment.
Ongoing appointments
Because every patient has their own unique set of circumstances, it is impossible to say at the outset how many appointments will be needed. It may be that I will see a patient just once where there is no need for a follow-up or where their ongoing treatment plan involves referral to different specialists. I am supported by clinical psychologists who can provide psychological treatments to patients, including, CBT, DBT, MBT, EMDR and psychotherapy.
